2. Geophysicist, Group A : Passed / Appearing Master Degree in Science in Following Stream Physics / Applied Physics / Geophysics / Marine Geophysics or Any Other Equivalent Degree
3. Chemist. Group A : Master Degree in Science M.Sc Chemistry / Applied Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry Passed / Appearing in Any Recognized University in India.
4. Scientist B (Hydrogeology, Chemical, Geophysics) : Passed / Appearing (Final Year) Master degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine  Geology or Any Equivalent Degree in Any Recognized University in India.

How to Apply

  1. Register on OTR : Visit https://upsconline.nic.in and create a profile (if not done previously) to generate a Universal Registration Number (URN).
  2. Fill the Application : Log in and select the "Combined Geo-Scientist Examination, 2026".
  3. Complete Modules : Complete the 4-part application (Parts I-III in CAF, Part IV is exam-specific) with personal, educational, and preferred exam center details.
  4. Upload Documents : Upload scanned, legible copies of a recent photograph, signature, and photo ID proof.
  5. Pay Fee : Pay the required application fee of ₹200 via SBI Net Banking, credit/debit cards, or UPI, or cash in any SBI branch.
  6. Submit & Print : Review the application, submit it, and print the confirmation page.

Selection Process

  • Stage I : Preliminary Examination (400 Marks) : Objective-type Computer Based Test (CBT) featuring General Studies (Paper-I, 100 marks) and Subject-specific papers (Paper-II, 300 marks).
  • Stage II : Main Examination (600 Marks) : Descriptive-type examination with three papers, designed to test domain knowledge.
  • Stage III : Personality Test / Interview (200 Marks) : Candidates who qualify the Main exam are called for an interview focusing on domain knowledge and personality traits.
  • Final Selection : Based on total marks from Prelims, Mains, and the Interview.
