• Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of Rs.60,000 – 1,80,000/- at the Basic Pay of Rs.60,000/- during one-year training cum probation as Executive Trainee in E-2 grade. On successful completion of their Training cum Probation Period, they will be absorbed in the same Pay Scale of Rs.60,000 – 1,80,000/- in E-2 grade. No protection of pay shall be admissible to the Candidates joining GAIL in the above‐ mentioned posts.
• Pay and Allowances: Basic Pay as applicable in the grade, Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) at the applicable rates and perks & allowances under cafeteria approach.
• Variable Pay: Performance Related Pay based on individual and organizational performance.
• Other Benefits: Company Accommodation / Leased Accommodation / HRA, medical facility, group insurance, etc.
• Superannuation Benefits: Besides Contributory Provident Fund, Gratuity and Pension, employees who superannuate from GAIL after rendering a minimum of 15 years of service will also be entitled to Post-Retirement Medical Benefits.

Post Wise Qualification

• Executive Trainee (Chemical) : Bachelor Degree in Engineering in Chemical / Petrochemical / Chemical Technology / Petrochemical Technology / Chemical Technology & Polymer Science / Chemical Technology & Plastic Technology.
• Executive Trainee (Instrumentation) : Bachelor Degree in Engineering in Instrumentation / Instrumentation & Control / Electronics & Instrumentation / Electrical & Instrumentation / Electronics / Electrical & Electronics. 
• Executive Trainee (Electrical) : Bachelor Degree in Engineering in Electrical / Electrical, Electronics & Power / Electrical & Electronics / Electrical & Power. 
• Executive Trainee (Mechanical) : Bachelor Degree in Engineering in Mechanical / Production / Production & Industrial / Manufacturing / Mechanical & Automobile.
• Note : Candidates Must Have Appeared for GATE 2026 in the Relevant Paper and Must Have a Valid Score.

How to Apply

• Appear for GATE-2026 : Ensure you have applied for and are appearing in the relevant GATE-2026 paper (CH, IN, EE, or ME) corresponding to your engineering discipline.

• Obtain GATE Details : Download your GATE-2026 Admit Card to obtain your official Registration Number.

• Access GAIL Portal : Visit the official GAIL website at https://gailonline.com and navigate to the "Careers" section.

• Submit Online Application : Fill out the online application form between 11:00 hrs on February 20, 2026, and 18:00 hrs on March 18, 2026.

• Enter GATE Registration Number : Provide your valid GATE-2026 Registration Number exactly as it appears on your admit card; applications without it will be rejected.

• Upload Photograph : Use the same passport-size photograph that was submitted with your GATE-2026 application.

• Choose One Post : Apply for only one post or discipline, as multiple applications will not be considered.

• Save Application Printout : After successful submission, download and print the system-generated application form with your unique registration number for future use.

• Retain Documents : Keep the printed application form, original GATE-2026 admit card, and score card safe to produce if called for the selection process. 

Selection Process

• GATE Performance : Candidates are first shortlisted based on their GATE-2026 marks.

• Skill Assessment : Shortlisted candidates must undergo a Group Discussion to assess skills and competencies.

• Alternative Assessment : For specific PwBD categories (B, D, and E), a Case Study or Writing exercise is conducted in lieu of the Group Discussion.

• Personal Interview : Candidates then appear for a Personal Interview before a Selection Committee.

• Health Evaluation : Final appointment is subject to being found medically fit according to standards prescribed by the company.
