How to Apply

  • Step 1 : Website Access – Visit the official website of the Punjab and Haryana High Court at www.highcourtchd.gov.in to access the online application link.

  • Step 2 : Read Instructions – Thoroughly read the detailed employment notice and general links on the application page before starting the process.

  • Step 3 : Prepare Information – Ensure you have a valid personal email ID, active mobile number, and online payment facility (net banking/cards) ready.

  • Step 4 : Digital Assets – Prepare a scanned recent passport-size photograph (less than 30 days old with white background) and scanned signatures for uploading.

  • Step 5 : Fill Details – Enter all personal and educational details accurately, ensuring your category selection is correct as it cannot be changed later.

  • Step 6 : Review Application – Carefully re-check all entered information and uploaded documents, as no changes are permitted after final submission.

  • Step 7 : Online Payment – Pay the non-refundable application fee ($1000$ for General, $800$ for SC/ST/BC of PB, HR, and CHD) using the online gateway.

  • Step 8 : Final Submission – Complete the registration process and take a screenshot of any errors that occur to report to the helpdesk if necessary.

  • Step 9 : Save Documents – Print and retain a hard copy of the submitted application form for the future testimonials checking stage.

Selection Process

  • Step 1 : Online Registration and Application – Candidates must submit their applications and pay the required fees through the official website by March 10, 2026.

  • Step 2 : Shortlisting of Candidates – The High Court reserves the right to adopt any criteria to shortlist the number of applicants to be called for the actual tests.

  • Step 3 : English Shorthand Dictation – Provisionally eligible candidates must take down a 5-minute dictation at a speed of 80 w.p.m.

  • Step 4 : Word Processing/Transcription Test – Candidates transcribe the shorthand dictation on a computer at 20 w.p.m.; mistakes must not exceed 4% to qualify.

  • Step 5 : Spread Sheets Test – A qualifying test of 10 minutes (10 marks) where candidates must secure at least 40% (4 marks) to pass.

  • Step 6 : Preparation of Merit List – The final list of qualified candidates is prepared based on their performance and merit in the Word Processing/Transcription Test.

  • Step 7 : Checking of Testimonials – Shortlisted merit-list candidates are called via SMS or Email to produce original documents, affidavits, and NOCs for verification.

  • Step 8 : Final Recommendation and Appointment – The Hon'ble High Court decides the final number of candidates to be recommended for appointment to the 25 vacant posts.
